ABOUT US
A New You Skin and Body Clinic is a state-of-the-art medical spa, our flagship clinic is found in a quiet setting removed from the bustle of the city.
We have been in Woodstock since 2001, and have hundreds of satisfied clients. In
late 2006 we opened a clinic in the heart of Buckhead. Next door to the famous 103 West restaurant, our in-town clinic features the same incomparable treatments and experienced staff.
Both locations offer evening and Saturday appointments.

Deborah Moore, RN, BSN, CNOR
Deborah Moore received her nursing diploma from Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing and her BSN at Georgia State University. Her expertise lies in cardiac and surgical nursing, and in 1992, Ms. Moore was instrumental in the successful launching of Buckhead’s Laser Center of America. She parlayed that extensive experience into a directorship of the top outpatient surgical center in North Georgia. Ms. Moore is certified in laser therapy, including the Vasculite, IPL, Harmony, Light Sheer, Relume and Clear Light systems. She is trained in sclerotherapy, provides facials, microdermabrasion and chemical peels, and has comprehensive knowledge of the newest skin care techniques and products.
Judith McKernan, RN, BSN
Clinic Director
Judith received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in 1983. Upon completion of a rotational internship at Piedmont Hospital, Judith worked in the surgical suite. She traveled throughout the country teaching urological nursing, and was the manager of Kennestone Hospital’s first lithotripsy unit. Ms. McKernan has worked in healthcare marketing for more than ten years. Her role with A New You includes consultant, educator, manager and service provider. She is certified in lasers including the Lumenis IPL, Laserscope, and Alma platforms. She is also certified for Relume, Light Sheer, and Clear Light, and has been trained in sclerotherapy treatment. Judith is a member of the Association of Medical Esthetic Nurses.
J. Barry McKernan, M.D.,Ph.D., FACS
Dr. McKernan, medical director of A New You Skin and Body Clinic, is a world leader in laparoscopic surgery and one of the original pioneers in minimally invasive general surgery. On June 22, 1988, he performed the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) in the United States. Since then, Dr. McKernan has gone on to develop advanced procedures for treating hiatal hernias, ventral and inguinal hernias, colon disease, laparoscopic treatments of liver, adrenal and pancreatic conditions.
Dr. McKernan has a broad background, having completed a Ph.D. in pharmacology after receiving his Masters in biochemical physiology and his medical degree with a surgical internship. He focused his love for developing and creating on the designing of new instrumentation and training of surgeons worldwide. He co-edited the textbook Principles of Laparoscopic Surgery and has been published in journals such as:
The American Surgeon, Southern Medical Journal, Japanese Surgical Journal, Journal of the Medical Association of Georgia and Surgical Clinics of North American and Surgical Rounds.
Dr. McKernan’s lifelong interest in the development and progress of innovative medical technology has led him to work with manufacturers in helping develop lasers, and because of this expertise, A New You Skin and Body Clinic excels in its provision of the latest medical treatments for your skin and body rejuvenation.
Donna E. Stephenson, LME, DAAM
Donna was trained by industry pioneer Judith Sans, and became one of Georgia's first licensed Estheticians. Donna has been a trainer for Esthetic Schools, is a voracious student in the field, and holds a certification in Reflexology along with Board Certification in Permanent Cosmetics. Donna has been certified by Obagi® Skincare and Cosmedix, and performs ongoing education and testing in her field.
