The gray market refers to products originally manufactured by an approved company in the United States but exported abroad and then later illegally imported back into the country, but most often refers to counterfeit products. The counterfeit products are not the same as the patented products- but are routinely sold as such.
The dangers of bypassing legitimate distribution channels:
- The products are manufactured counterfeit products and may pose serious risks to the patient since China, India and Canada have no regulations on Methods of standardizing production.
- The products may have been manufactured properly but are now expired which reduces effectiveness
- The products may have been manufactured properly but are mishandled or not stored properly, reducing their strength and lasting ability
- The products may have been manufactured properly but are diluted or otherwise compromised
If the price seems really low- Buyer Beware!
Ask to see the manufacturer’s box, or even the invoice with numbers covered
